Checked my trail cameras on my mineral licks this past weekend and see the bucks are putting on their head gear and the Does are about to bust with fawns.

I use a mineral/attractant called 'Deer Syrup' which is a homemade recipe. Here are the ingredients, mix all together and pour on ground or stump.

Six 1-pound containers of salt (can be “cheap” salt)
One 2-pound bag of brown sugar
Three bottles or jars, of molasses (normal jar size Grandma used to put preserves in)
Three frozen containers of “apple concentrate” (regular size – like a can of corn or can of chili)
One-half a gallon of apple cider (not apple cider “vinegar” – apple cider to drink)
One-half a bottle of maple syrup (normal size kind of tall, like pancake syrup “Aunt Jemima”)
Three boxes of baking soda (not the smallest box, next size up)

Fun to see the changes as the summer rolled along. Amazing how much they like what you've put out as it appears a depression has formed where you've put it out. Good hunting, Chris! See you for the opening of squirrel season. David
