Used to have plenty of big ole fox squirrels on NShore, not sure where they migrated to but do know that Folsom area harbors a few,too bad Ben's Creek WMA reverted back to private land as there may have been some in that former WMA!!Plenty of cat squirrels where I live and hunt, awesome hunt, indeed!!!

last year I made one squirrel hunt in the basin on opening day then the water came up and couldn't hunt, water was over knee boots, shoot them and they sink, this year same story, water in the river use to go down around mid june and stay down till in November, sure put a dent in my squirrel spots.

Hate dat high water stuff, unless ya duck hunting!!!The only hunting I have done in de Basin was Sherburne WMA wild turkey hunting and the high water decimated a once-thriving wild turkey population, unfortunately!!!The Feds cut a huge firebreak through the Big Branch Marsh area that I squirrel hunt in and dat allowed me to stealthily sneak up on a few tree rats and spooked a few deer last squirrel trip!!
