Duck Report/Blind Building

Reply
Just wanted to share my experience the last two weekends. Have been try to build a few more blinds to get ready for duck season. Got most of a floor down last Saturday and planned to finish it last Sunday. The tide came up about 1 1/2 ft overnight and that didn?t allow us to finish the floor and anchor it to the marsh. Went back this morning and the tide was still way too high. It has been high all week. Much of the grass that was covering the ponds is now piled up in the marsh along the shoreline. I have included a pic of the grass before the high tide. A lot of this is seasonal die off but I am hoping that we have not lost too much of the SAV. I will post another live next week when the tide gets a little lower. I did see some migrating ducks. Saw a few nice flocks of green wings and a couple flocks of pintail. All flocks were 10-15 ducks. Also raised some singles and pairs of teal along with a few mottled ducks. Hoping the tide permits me to finish the blinds the next two weekends as youth weekend is only 3 weeks away. Good luck to all as we are getting close!
