Me and a Medicare Client had nice Lady P trip planned today, trouble was he accidentally left ignition key on overnight destroying weak starting battery that he estimated was about 4-5 years old and Wally World in Covington was our first stop followed by launch at Mandeville Harbor and a nice Lady P greeted us and we started at some ole familiar spots, nabbing one bass each mine caught on Bomber Spinner bait, his on gold spoon. We hoped to find some willing reds but to no avail and we headed tad E where we ran into anonymous Lady P expert who advised that we may find some specks not that far from where we exchanged pleasantries and my buddy nabbed fine 16 inch speck on doggone Bomber Spinner bait,I swapped out to one of Wiz's wakebaits,on first cast nabbed small speck way too short to even measure and on very next cast nabbed probably his twin and gave my buddy mullet-looking MirroDine and he started nabbing small non-keeper specks and I tried variety of lures, switched from wakebait to soft plastic, nada, swapped over to MirroDineXL,had big fish stop lure dead in its tracks but somehow avoid two sets of treble(trouble???)hooks and guess I was jinxed today.Water gorgeous everywhere we fished and saw armada out there today, most everyone nabbing under-sized specks and saw one fella nab huge bull red.Headed to Mandeville DU Banquet tonight, gonna strategize with fishing buddies and try to squeeze in some deer stand time, especially since I have very recent day-time video of big doe grazing to her heart's content!!!Looking like ole Lady P about ready to give up some fish and HARD plastics may be secret weapon!!!Bombers not bad for bass and reds and mighta convinced fishing partner to give dem MirroDines a work-out,can't hurt!!!
