Made a trip to the Chalmette Wall on Friday after the locks opened and met an older gentleman at the launch, we exchanged pleasantries for a few minutes then launched our boats and went our separate ways. I went to my usual spot and anchored up and started fishing. It was a little slow but steady and after about an hour or so i noticed the gentleman i met at the dock making his way in my direction. There had been another boat to my right that was catching fish but for whatever reason moved on, so i motioned to the to the older gentleman to come over to where he was and told him the fish were biting to the right of me. He came over and pulled into the spot and started catching trout. After about an hour the bite slowed for both of us, so i started casting in a different direction, behind my boat and starting catching trout almost one after the other, so i told the older gentleman to come over on side of me to get into the action. As soon as he came over he starting catching as well until he got hung up on the bottom. As he was making his way to the snag with his trolling motor, two african american men in a Key West boat that must have been watching us hauling in trout decided to try to motor over to try to get in on the action and almost ran into the older gentleman trying to free his line. Right away they started yelling and cursing at the older gentleman for getting in their way and threatening to whip his A--! I just looked over and starting to shake my head in disgust and they started to curse me too for shaking my head. It's a good thing that i was having a good day fishing and didn't let these two MORONS get the best of me. There is no place for A-Holes like this on the water, but it seems like every year more of them show up. Going fishing is my way to get away from people like this!
