Hopefully we are NOT experiencing the dreaded 'reverse migration' and de Nuck and Futz Duck Busters tried yet another spot that we just knew would hold some ducks and some is the key word.We emerged with exactly three, two blue wings and scaup(he shot de scaup!!!)and with just a tad of luck I easily should have at least three more ducks, mottled ducks that are still haunting me(they made their feeding chatter and I thought it was a fairly nearby caller!!!)and I was definitely burned by them and did knock down fine greenhead that escaped(was hunting doggone mudflat loaded with grass)and likewise got burned by pair of teal and Nuck did de honors on one sent his way.Had pair of mottled ducks later but they veered off just as hunters N of me rang out 6-shot volley and Nuck and I had greys working, only to have em veer off just tad outta range.Gonna check out yet another spot and hope to fool some greenheads, not seeing many greys but I did see fairly decent flocks of teal, thing I had poison in my pond!!!

You did better than us. All we seen was about a dozen flybys. Hoodies at about 80 yards high. Well there is always next weekend.

Mandevillian, Heard some really good reports from Big Branch near Lacombe, isn't that pretty close to you? Not sure if you are familiar with that area, it is easily accessible...

Yep,Big Branch is not that far from me and I hunt her quite readily and would love to say good hunting out there but dat is the furthest from the truth.Hard hunts for the most part, unless one wants to launch off Lake Road and fight crowds hunting ponds that are not too far of a paddle.Heard Fritchie Marsh is decent but that likewise gets crowded and my last few hunts there did NOT yield a quality duck, plenty divers.Told mad hook if he wants divers, plenty, plenty right along shorelines of Lady P and those can be hunted 7 days/week,as long as one is NOT standing on Fountainbleau State Park Land. Now as far as redheads are concerned, might have a bunch in Fritchie-mid-week hunts might yield less hunting pressure and ya never know, might stumble upon grey/widgeon/mottled/mallard.Good luck out there.Have had two DNF hunts in Big Branch!!
