Wiz,With the wonderful first split of duck season mercifully over, might be time for me to chase some specks!!!Nice catch.Gonna see what gives on NShore as I understand dem Trestles giving up some fine fish and de Causeway is my favorite reef, though with my flat I need calm conditions but reds a-plenty should be along shoreines and with higher water, sneaking up and dossing dem Bombers should be relatively easy!!!

How deeply do those lures fish Mr. Wizard?

Damn, I need to spell-check!!!Meant shorelines and tossing dem Bombers and Berkely Gulps catch EVERYTHING in their path, sometimes a detriment as plenty dem 'horn trout' seem to grab em.Like dem customized hard plastics.I used to routinely dip the tails of Fin-S fish lures in Chartreuse Spike It and thought is was just a crutch but couple times had huge PowerLine Pilings reds shred the Fin-S off the jigheads, tossed one un-dyed and got not a nibble, dyed the tail, proceeded to finish off nice limit of fine SShore reds.If I get calm enough conditions this Wed,might try jigging Causeway Pilings, though with 10 mph NE winds, only extreme NShore pilings gonna be fishable in my flat,so shoreline reds, fed a steady diet of Bombers might be de ticket!!

trkdrvr: The hard plastic I’m using is a Catch 2000 Chartreuse , the other one is a Electric chicken color and the third one is a XXL mirrorlure that I brushed with pink marker to look like a Electric chicken plug , all these lures are a Twitch baits that when casted will slowly fall in water colum , a very good lure to fish in shallow flats 2-4 ft , just cast it,let it fall for couple seconds and slowly twitch it and stop and repeat again, you will definitely feel the strike when a trout or red grabs your plug . Good Luck 🍀. 🧙‍♂️🎣

Wiz,Got me bunch dem twitch type baits, folks gonna start joking bout all de hard plastics I use and was checking out a few soft plastics made by company called Overcast Lures-seems like few dem Golden Meadow fishing fanatics have some fine soft plastics dey been spanking big specks with, might be worth a look-see.Love this time of year, have been having horrendous First Split,at least where we have been duck hunting and hope always springs eternal-maybe Second Split will be lot better.Buddy and his son headed to Arkansas for what he hopes to be great mallard hunts next few days, can't possibly be worse than what we have been experiencing,MT Skies, and trash ducks when we get anything close enough!!!Catch em up today-treating self to nice leisurely solo trip this Wed!!!
