Two Texas Trophies

I was blessed with a successful hunt in southwest Texas over the last couple of days. With only 2.5 days to hunt, the pressure was on. We were hunting on a friend's private family property in the Davis Mountains near Mitre Peak. It is a beautiful property with a wide variety of habitat, elevations and available species. All low fence, free range, wild animals. We saw elk, whitetails, mule deer, Aoudad, wild boar and javelina.

I took a nice 10 point whitetail and an old mature Aoudad ram. It was a great hunt.

Thanks Scott. It is an amazing place. The property has mountains, canyons, grass meadows, waterfalls, steep cliffs and a varied of other landscape features. You would never believe you were in Texas. The animals that live free-range on the property include whitetail, mule deer, elk, aoudad, cougars, coyotes, javelina, wild hogs. The even also have turkey, doves and yes, even some ducks were encountered in small watering holes and an area of old cement ponds that were used for swimming recreation back in the 1930's.
