Don’t need any bait, just nylon rope

Went out this morning, tide was up falling against a SE wind , trying a bayou I haven’t fished in a while . Last night I made a lure out of a piece of nylon rope, dipping it in chartreuse garlic dip , told a buddy that I could catch trout and reds on it ! Well I was surprised how good it would work catching well over 40 trout and reds , letting go bigger trout and keeping a limit of 13- 14 inch trout for neighbors and my family , for supper tonight. 🧙‍♂️🎣

Like an Ole School Bucktail Jig! Can't tell the amount of trout my Dad and I caught on those things before 'Sparkle Beetles' came out! Good for you, thanks for sharing.

That's good to see. Sometimes old School an hand made out do any new(got to have because everyone else is throwing them)type baits. Keep the good reports coming. Also that knot you tie is a big help also. I love that knot on jerk/swim baits. Keeps it life like.

Thanks guys for your comments, when I sat down thinking about making a bait that won’t rot or be chewed up, I figured why not make it out of nylon rope, it’s one ugly bait , but the Science behind it is that with all the lose fibers once a trout bites it they can’t spit it out fast enough, thus making it easier to set the hook , adding a chartreuse garlic dye dip only added to the bite. 🧙‍♂️🎣

Wiz,

Impressive as always! They don’t make fisherman like you anymore. So when are you starting the guide service? 😂. Keep the reports & pictures coming. Going to give some of your techniques a try up here in NC soon.

That's pretty cool,,,we used to use a piece of a white tee shirt sometimes when they were biting really good. Also, don't forget the old shad rig,,,,they still work great for single or double hookups.

Yes to the shad rig. Catching trout in GI with my uncle Lester 1965 was glad one of the shad broke off so I didn't have to catch two at a time anymore...

I’m really impressed with your trout catching techniques. What! To catch a chest full of specs and reds on a dang piece of nylon rope with a hook in it? Not only are you the Wizard but a fishing genius also! Nuck and Futz duo been up here duck hunting with me and my buddy Al in Arkansas and when he showed me your post I thought it was joke? On a nylon rope? You Da man, hope to fish with you sometimes.
