River riseing

Looks like ya'll boy's on the causeway gunna be in for another catfish trip soon...B.C. Spillway flowing already....I heard the corp. opened 15 bays to try and get a heads up on it but if not the spillway definitely flooded . Saw a satalite map of lake and southern half nothing but muddy water....Heard they supposed to expidite the maraupas swamp diversion and garyville canal diversion....I would think dumping it in a swamp instead of a river or canal would clean out all the sediment before it hits the lake ....with the st.charles protection levee they could divert the spillway through the swamp and filter it out also ....then again they'd have to study the situation for a few million before anything done....

Heard same thing regarding Maurepas diversion today from one of my Medicare Clients. Hate prospect of yet another Spillway Opening and we really need a more workable solution vs yearly and sometimes twice yearly Spillway Openings.

As bullcoon said, divert water from spillway to swamp and LaBranch wetlands north of hurricane protection levee. This area from the spillway to Kenner, Hwy 61 to the lakeshore is approximately 28 square miles.
Issues limiting the amount of water allowed are: oilfield production, airport approach lights, camps, and railroad tracks.

Dat area needs a flushing of freshwater and not 100% sure about Maurepas diversion though about year ago,me and a hunting buddy went into Joyce WMA and saw huge pipes seeming to divert water into Joyce WMA,probably not bad idea.HATE prospect of yet another Bonnet Carre Spillway Opening!!!
