Been catching a few before the fronts hit. Blue and white, or black and chartreuse jigs.

Very nice haul was gonna try ole T-Funky but she gets way too much traffic on week ends so opted for somewhat secluded N Bayou Lacombe trip and did try deep-jigging with fine Lunker City Grubster(2.75 in)charcoal in color and dipped tail in Chartreuse Spike It and was jigging Pilings near Tammany Trace bridge and felt thump thought it was state record sac a lait and turned out to be fat bass about 1.25 lb👍🐠🎣

Cork and jig has been the go to lately.

good ole boy,Yep cork and jig WAS my preferred method but where I have been fishing,deep-jigging has been productive, not for numbers but for slabs close to one lb each.My older son had four to my one and then I switched over, only caught one but it was a mini-beast and he caught one a shade smaller and we found very promising evening spot, just had to contend with skeeters and we may head back out early next week and hope to take Wifey this Tues(love mid-week T-Funky trips with lot less pressure).I NEVER resort to live minnows, etc and love finesse fishing.Picked up neat weedguard jigheads in both 1/8 oz and 1/16 oz and the bigger ones should be great for deeper holes that show up on Lowrance and yesterday we ran into two gents looking like they were tournament fishermen with fine aluminum Ranger and with identical shirts and pants and found out they had Livescan on their boat and older son got chance to chat with em and they reported electronics showing PLENTY sacs on their screen(now exactly where they were)just not sure why they were NOT loading up boat!!

P.S. Might hand-tie some sac a lait jigs using weedguard-equipped jigheads!!

Wifey and I checked out the condition of my favorite sac a lait river, the T-Funky,as we headed to our Ponchatoula Wal Mart Medicare kiosk and she looks mighty-fine,making my executive decision for tomorrow much more difficult.Do I take Wifey to de Trestles, tossing some dem ultra-fine Lunker City Shakers(need to re-name em Trestles Trout Tamers)or do I take her instead to T-Funky and tight-line plenty of fine mini soft plastics, tipping them with Crappie Psychic trailer,Chartreuse has been go-to!!!Right now just watched yet another fine AJfishes You Tube, seems he and Dave Raggio put nice box of specks together just yesterday, fishing Delacroix, kinda long haul for us on NShore!!!Tough decisions and think we gonna check Hydrocoast Map to see if there is any salinity on NShore before making final decision!!!
