Had T-Funky trip planned for today with Abita KC member(happens to be Medicare Client of mine)and around 5:00 am,got call from him that he was not up to today's trip and I told him no big deal, was gonna now practice social distancing much easier via solo trip.Launched very early, slowly trolled up to first spot and took EXACTLY ONE cast to nab biggest slab of trip(.90 lb,fat specimen)and first spot yielded 5 more keepers with two throw-backs(really was encouraging nabbing 6 at first spot).Tried frog pole but no takers then chatted with gent from Springfield and told him about first spot and showed him chunk from first spot.Did fair amount of tight-lining Spoiler Shad, blue, with pink Crappie Psychic trailer(killer combo, especially on fat sac a lait-spawn definitely not over based upon the fish I caught today)and only nabbed one more sac a lait and knew my time on T-Funky getting a tad shorter(have 2:00 pm Humana Medicare Webinar-lotta carriers scrambling with CoVid19 dramatically altering our enrollment processes).Did head way N to Bogue Falaya and water very stained so I headed back to where I nabbed 6 nice sac a lait and caught fine Kentucky bass,tight-lining Spoiler Shad with Crappie Psychic trailer, great and super-effective set-up.Did manage one more sac a lait on main T-Funky in spot where this past Sun I nabbed 5!!Getting much better at deep-jigging and hope folks I ran into today had a few slabs. One gent said he caught over 15 but only had 2 keepers!!Hope to join AJfishes tomorrow, seeking specks at Trestles.

Always try to up de odds when slab fishing and gent I met today showed me neat way to use secondary depthfinder using plastic AR 15 magazine box and small battery like those used for deer feeders, older motorized decoys, etc and using trolling motor transducer easily found at Academy. One other item dat ups de odds is that I was watching Richard Gene,de Fishing Machine,You-Tube Videos, and he suggests loop knots and I taught self easy way to tie one using double over-hand knot.Basically the knot I use involves doubling the line through the lure eye and tying double over-hand knot, takes some practice but works with ALL lines, including fluro and braid!!My next step gonna be to use older Lowrance unit I had in place before replacing it with Hook2-5 Tripleshot.Next thing is I probably need to skip some docks like lotta folks fishing T-Funky and Tickfaw River do!!Just got in April Sportsman and see where loop knot is suggested!!Try dem Spoiler Shad, bet ya will be nabbing some beasts and NEVER have to use live minnows!!

troyss1,Thanks and Wifey has awesome recipe for sac a lait and she used Dijon mustard and Red Lobster biscuit mix and broiled those fine fish and they were absolutely incredible.Going on a solo trip tomorrow and will try my best to locate a few schools of dem beasts. Was surprised at the lack of fishing pressure today, guess some folks bit hook, line, sinker(pun intended)on rumors that launches would be closed.Did hear about Grand Isle State Park being closed and that State Police would not be allowing folks to enter Grand Isle area unless they own a camp down there. That definitely makes sense in they do not wants folks congregating and perhaps a few folks got citations for getting together on T-Funky in crowds exceeding more than about 10 in total.Love my solo trips anyway and now have GREAT reasons to social distancing via solo trips!
