Had decent window of opportunity, was doing solo trip, somehow those tend to be the most productive, and launched de Ole SouthFork very early, had doggone headlight to be able to see and first spot, once again yielded yet another stud sac a lait in the form of one that was 1.09lb,my heaviest to date and have reasonable expectations of nabbing true beast of over 3 lbs, know the T-Funky very capable of producing such a trophy fish as I lost one guestimated at well over 3.5 about 2-3 years ago.First spot produced heaviest plus one more, then went on a search and nabbed rest shooting docks, ala Richard Gene, the Fishing Machine and also picked up nice bass same way,in fact when I hooked bass initially suspected chunky sac a lait.Ran into gent named Jack(Johnny Reb on another site)and exchanged ideas and he tossed me fine lil bait I need to try and told him Spoiler Shad, blue, with pink Crappie Psychic Trailer doing de damage and getting much better at tight-lining tiny lures, work as well as de real thing!!Did make obligatory run way up Bogue Falaya and missed very nice Kentucky bass dat was hell-bent for nabbing Red Bug Zoom Speed Worm(can't seem to find June Bug Red Speed Worms-bet LA Sportsman has em)and had bass about same size as worm chase it down but he did not inhale it.Glad fishing buddy of mine suggested 'dock-shooting' and bet once I get much more comfortable, boxes gonna be filled with more than 6-8 but de ones I have been nabbing close to and exceeding one lb,nothing shabby bout dat!!!Guess having Ray Bans on today messed me up as I saw huge Kentucky bass chase worm and should have just relaxed and kept steady pace on retrieve, same scenario occurs with White River rainbows chasing Rebel Crawfish crankbaits, gotta ignore flash of fish and keep steady retrieve.Guestimated weight of this bass to be close to 3 lbs and nabbed one that big few years ago and LA record tad over 4 lbs!!!Oh well, gotta keep on keeping on and did not have ton of pressure today know full well dat changes on week ends, unless ya only fish til bout 8:00 am!!!

Had older son and I known dat de Tracks not gonna be wise choice for today,we definitely woulda hit certain spots in T-Funky and one spot in particular has consistently produced at least a 1 lb or better chunk past few trips!!!Lotta fun and even better-eating!!Might hit ole T-Funky this Friday with older son and grandson!!!

CCAguns,Thanks and goal is to get more dem beasts, most exceeding 1lb and got more spots to check out, looking for true brutes, exceeding 3 lbs!!Buddy of mine who fishes Tickfaw River been shooting docks, gave me some valuable tips for 'dock-shooting' and there are tons of docks to shoot on T-Funky.My limited experience shooting the few docks I have shot is that I find a chunk at a dock and not another taker, think the big sac a lait chase away smaller ones but willing to check out plenty, plenty more docks and secluded ones might be even more productive. One of the chunks in dat pic came from an isolated dock, need to hit it again soon. The other thing I like about fishing T-Funky is the presence of fine Kentucky bass(looking for dat big ole Kentucky dat MISSED Red Bug Zoom Speed Worm this past Friday-he was in Bogue Falaya).Got plenty of deep-diving crankbaits and those might destroy Kentucky bass in deeper sections of Bogue Falaya(got few dem deep spots).Been lotta fun deep-jigging slabs, just not catching more than about 6-8 per trip, not a problem as the filets from those slabs are HUGE!!!Thanks and good luck fishing wherever you choose to fish!

P.S. Once dem Tracks get right, gonna be lotta fun deep-jigging up some big ole specks, long as Spillway does NOT get opened. One more goal of mine is to nab bunch of specks, reds, flounders at Tracks then head back N up Bayou Liberty and nab some sac a lait, got some docks to shoot there!

Wifey and I took short ride to Sportsman's Warehouse in Slidell and I was able to pick up exactly one pack of June Bug Red Zoom Speed Worms,Ultra-Vibe and got a few more Zoom Worms, not my favorite Speed Worms but U-Tail(do not think dem bass gonna mind!!)and we did hit Wally World on Airport Rd and I picked up a few packs of dem slab-killas Spoiler Shad in blue, doggone things so realistic and did scope out the bigger versions, though not made by same company,Tsunamai Swim Shads and one of the Lake P veterans, now deceased,Bill Hungerford swore by Tsunamai,my only issue was I like a tad heavier rig to get dem swim baits down somewhat more quickly to keep smaller specks from attacking em!!!Hope to nab some more fine and fat slabs and once doggone winds settle down might nab some fat and sassy Trestles trout, using dem Shakers(Trestles Trout Tamers).

P.S. Just last year had Delacroix veteran show a few of us his tactics for doubling up on very nice 16-18 inch specks using some tandem-rigged Tsunamai swim baits!!!Hint, hint, match de hatch!!!
