It’s just a buzz bait with a H&H cockahoe minnow on it really easy to make

De same reason I use the Bomber-gets the attention with the gold spinner and whatever soft plastic ya wanna put on jig head-like using Yum Mud Minnow as it has seriously realistic-looking minnow details!!Bet a Bomber spinner bait tossed at dem City Park bass might encite a bass riot!!

Caught my biggest Sac in North Course golf pond when I was growing up on Spanish Fort Blvd. Just under 3 lbs! Caight him on Rapala fat minnow.

Used to fish the City Park tournament. Always got a laugh at the 6 and 7 pound fish that folks entered to win. One year, this guy covered in seaweed (don't know where he got THAT!) won the rod&reel division and his wife squeamishly held up a 4 pounder she supposedly caught WITH A FLY ROD! She had on heels! That's what happens with money prizes.

Hats off to our vets! I was telling the wife today, I think we'd be in a world of shXX if WWII happened today. Folks today don't know what it means to be a true American. Kids are into themselves and couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag. Young folks are all in it for themselves. Our manufacturing capacity sucks. Etc, etc, etc!!!

CCAguns,Yep those City Park Lagoons do hold some chunks-used to fish it as a kid and young adult-have not fished it since about 1980 or so.I also used to launch pirogue and nab some incredibly fat bass in Bayou St.John(Devils Horse Toothpick would destroy em)but we ALWAYS released em,scared of dat water and what might be in it!!!

You're right! Got married on Bayou St John in 1976 - Father Harry Tompson presiding. Inlaws had a beautiful home on Bancroft Drive & Harry got special dispensation from Archbishop to get married on Bayou. Family went to Mass that morning in the Jesuit Chapel. Ducks traipsed through the wedding party on the lawn during the ceremony!

Used to tear up the bass on devil's horse in Bayou St. John.. Didn't eat any - too many dead bodies dumped in the Bayou over the years. Brings back lots of memories!

Wife's afraid to go out to fish due to virus. Guess I'm staying home tomorrow.

CCAguns,Me and a buddy used to destroy bass behind many of those fine homes on Bayou St.John and one of the reasons I never kept any had to do with the hypodermic needles, syringes, etc I used to see all over the place.Tell your wife yall will be practicing 'social distancing' on your boat, got plenty of folks out there fishing and I have yet to have anyone get close to me,in fact Johnny Reb and I stayed at least 8 ft apart when we encountered each other this past Friday on T-Funky.One thing I failed to mention about our encounter is that he was in fine Gatortrax with Surface-Drive and I had de camo SouthFork and we chatted about how miserable each of our duck seasons had been.Just typing right now makes me wanna chase T-Funky slabs asap!!!Got business to tend to this week and hope to chase some T-Funky slabs this Friday,if not sooner.Wifey's air-fried bass and redfish were incredible, need to try dat air-fryer for sac a lait next!!!Hope ya get out soon!!!

CCAguns : Like Mandervilln said there’s plenty of folks out there fishing, I was out yesterday and at launch must of been a dozen boats had launched when l got back , had couple of boats picking up , every one was courteous and kept there distance, l had a great day fishing yesterday didn’t make any posts last couple trips , but it’s still the same catching and releasing them, only keeping enough for supper! Y’all need too get out there and enjoy the weather 🧙‍♂️🎣

Just sent John C and de Wiz pics of our incredible container vegetable garden and was gonna post a separate post entitled,' Do not need no stinking gyms' as we bust our tails working on huge container garden and just got yet another load of very fine and black as charcoal garden soil from Accardo Materials in Mandeville(thank God they are open and one form of stress-relief is gardening). Can't wait to reap rewards and guess I could use sac a lait carcasses as fertilizer(might be better using dem to nab Honey Island Swamp mini-lobsters)!!Probably was great thing we did NOT keep Bayou St.John bass!!!

Been trying to take wife down your way, Wiz. Been wanting to get her into specs for a long time. We only keep about two meals worth because I don't freeze them. Anyone who thinks thawed out fish tastes the same has poor taste buds. I don't really know Delacroix. I usually try 4 Horse Lake and work over to the twin pipelines. Years ago, my brother and I did well in Black Bay as that's where he fished. But wife doesn't like to get away from land. I want her to remain worry-free so I don't push it. I spent a lot of my professional career in the Gulf so open water doesn't appeal to me much anymore. Besides, what's prettier than being in the marsh or a small bay at sunup???

We used to catch some small trout, reds & flounder in Lake St. Catherine, but it's too fresh now. Catching a few bass in duck ponds around there. Thought we'd had a good outing today, but she declined. All worried about the virus.

Hopefully, get down your way soon. Stay safe and keep sending those great pics! CCAguns

CCAguns,Took a look at recent HyrdoCoast Map and that, coupled with my taste test showed me why there might be some hope for us on NShore, should ole Spillway NOT get opened.See if your wife might wanna venture out to Carr Drive area via the Bayou Liberty Launch(used to have pay box with envelopes but no longer have envelopes so I take an envelope each trip, print name and date and drop in $7,guess dat should suffice as they used to charge $7)not great launch but plenty usable and good jumping-off spot for possible sac a lait(N of St.Genevieve Church)and definitely short run to Bonfouca or Carr Drive area and Trestles!!!

Thanks, Mandevillian. I'll keep that in mind. She's rather wrist weak so it helps when a good red or spec hooks itself. She enjoys it, though. Just scared - she's watching too much Fake News!
