If they don't start dredging the mouth of the river to make it deeper, the River will continue to back up and flood. They will open the Bonnet Carre Spillway, again.....watch.

It's going above the 17 mark and that don't count rain that may fall in the basin up north....

Yep,if de doggone Spillway does indeed get opened there goes yet another Spring Speck run in Lady P Basin, just about starting to get a tad of salinity back-guess we shall see what de Corps does and it got dangerously close to getting opened but luck had a way of helping us out and Spillway was NOT opened, though a few informed sources said quite a bit of MS River water was spilling through-better that vs wide-open situation twice last year and we were told it was not wide-open but I have my doubts based upon driving to the Ponchatoula area via I-10 and the Bonnet Carre' Spillway looked to be flooding the Lady P Basin big-time.Hope we get through Spring w/o Spillway Opening.Guess I could chase sac a lait and bass in Lady P vs having to go to crowded T-Funky!!!

At some point people will begin to realize that we can't dredge our way out of this yearly issue no more than one can cure constipation by enlarging ones rectum.
The problem needs to be understood from a much broader perspective.

Guess best-case scenario is Spillway gets opened but not the entire set of bays and no longer than about 2-3 weeks.Crawfishing might get stellar but where I live Bateau's selling 10 lbs for $26.99 and it is lotta blood, sweat, tears to chase Honey Island mini-lobsters and just as well buy em already berled!
