Project COVID-19

While in quarantine I have had a lot more extra time on my hands. I have had this old flat boat since I was in high school and decided it was the perfect time to do a little renovating. Still needs a name.

How bout 'Quarantine Gal'.Looks like pretty nice lil rig and love dem Evinrude/Johnson outboards.Have seen quite a few the exact same year as mine,1999 model, and a couple I chatted with probably a month or so ago had the freshwater version of mine, the way to tell was the saltwater versions are white and his was dark blue.Good luck on renovation,I did complete renovation on 1999 Southfork 16 by 52 and she is a beast!!

I agree with Mandevillian. Great job my friend and at 67 years old I am trying to find me one like that to do a little fishing again. Agent Orange almost wiped my old behind out the last 5 years. You will be very happy with the project and not like some that have to have a $50,000 boat to fish in. I sure would like to know how that $1100 a pound fish taste when they eat it as opposed to yours. If anyone has tasted the expensive fish, please let me know the difference. Been fishing on the Basin since I was 13 years old in a 12 foot Monark with a 9.8 Merc. Drag that baby anywhere you want to go. Maybe one day I will get to wet a line again.

That’s a nice ole hull that you brought back to life , Like Mandi he’s has brought his ole girl back to life, doing a fine job of repairing her and making her engine purr once again , for the type of fishing we do that’s all you need .🧙‍♂️🎣

Nice job, old hull coming back to life!!! rub the engine hood with a bit of compound and see if the original color comes back, SELA flat boat one of the most vestal boats you can have to put a few fish in the freezer. On fishing, see the link from wildlife and fisheries, Wildlife and fisheries says any reports on not fishing is fake news just limit #'s in boat and keep your distance

Yep,Guess folks congregating like at the Bonnabel Boat Launch in Metairie and leading to shutdown of that launch probably freaks folks out, leading them to erroneously think we can't be fishing at this time.Nothing could be further from the truth and personally fishing, either solo or with a few folks safely distanced is like Richard Gene would say,'Good fer ya!' Get out and do some fishing, take some home for dinner, what could be wrong with that, especially if ya maintain proper social distancing,if ya gotta buy bait, ice, gas etc.As far as cleaners go and getting ole surfaces looking like new, hard to beat Magic Erasers, work like a charm and won't harm surfaces.Wifey showed me few tricks using Magic Erasers and they do awesome job!!
