Reply
TEAM JO-JO:
Last time out Monday, been without a truck, Sonofthepack needed a ride to work so me let him use the FORD transporter. So me had no plans to go fishing at all this week.
Got a call form Big George, (Thursday night) checking up on me, (was not feeling to good last week) he wanted to see how me be making out. We talked about some fishing, conditions, and what each of us thought. Me was listen and reading between the words, me think Big George was looking to scratch out a fishing trip. But we both agreed it night be best to wait.
Friday me up, checking all the fishing post, watching fishing videos, around 7 could not take it anymore, so me called Big George, once again we talking fishing. Says me you want to go, he says Saturday looks good, no says me, now today trip to our Disney World known as Delacroix Island.
Lost a few seconds, then Big George say the wind is going to be real bad, (he was right) we might want to wait for a better day. Says me lets plan for next week, says he give me 2 days’ notice, cause it mess up his sleeping, (me too it does) when he knows he be going fishing.
Now me did in the water no transportation to go fishing, Sonofthepack gest up and says he has to do paper work, and he be not using FORD transporter today, happy me, me be. Loaded up all me gear in the FORD transporter in no time off me be, SOLO trip to Delacroix.
SIGNS:
• Been to long off water
• Been to long cooped up in abode
• Been to long since me had a fishing pole In me hand
• No wildlife sightings along Hwy 11 or 90
• No boats on Hwy, gas stations, but me got a real late start, they all be out their already.
• Passed on Waffle House, McDonnell, Violet gas station, me on a mission
• Check point Abel water level up 12 to 14”
• Check point Bravo water pouring out at Reggio canal
• Fisherperson all along Delacroix Hwy, where ever they had a wet spot someone was fishing in it
• Reached the home of the Bay Flat Sr, she looked surprise to see me
• She be swaying back and forth in her slings
• Me quickly loaded her up
• Yamaha Cream Machine one turn of the key and she be fired up ready will and bale to go.
• Made a stop at Lionel’s for some ice, drinks, sandwiches, and 2 pounds of dead bait, me knew it was going to be a long day of fishing.
• Off to spot # 51B to start me day.
• On the way out 9:25 (5) boats coming back in, this not good sign me think, they either had their limits, or the wind was too hard to fish.
• Once me hit the Twin pipeline, more boast coming in, don’t know what happen, but it seemed all fisherperson where going home early.
• Reached the honey hole at 9:36 AM
CONDITIONS:
• Perfect
• Wind , East strong, S.S.E 18-20 mph steady all day
• Water, choppy, ripples where me be fishing
• Sky, Sunny, over cast, sunny over cast, sunny, overcast, kept changing
• Temp, mild, put me jumpsuit on at the slip, took it off before me pulled out of slip
• Water level, up 12-14”
• Water Temp , started out at 67F, got up to 73F
• Water clarity on a scale of 1-7, a good 3 plus, looked good all day, once the tide came in in about an hour it went to a 3 minus
• Tide, tail end of a falling tide , (took about 3 hours) to come in
• Boats out and about, not that many saw about 8-10 running around

REPERTOIRE OF TECHNIQUE / STRATEGY:
• Be safe
• Have fun
• This be me daily therapy for ALL me aliments
• Put some run time on the Bay Flat Sr and the Yamaha Dream Machine
• Gather Intel for future trips, and to share with fisherperson, (on rodnreel.com) to help assist them in their choice of areas to fish, lures to use and presentation of same to the elusive Silverwonders.
• Solo trip practice social distancing
• Challenge me self to 25 Silverwonders & 5 Redworries
• Need some much needed down time
• Stake out a place and spend the day there, too much wind to run around
• Wait them out, me had the right place, all me needed was the right time
1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Tough one today, first boat position was perfect, wind at me back. Re-positon boat to get better angle on them, now fishing cross wind. Had to re-position boat again too far out, this location was perfect, but still had to fish a cross wind.)
2 MOVING WATER: (Strong falling tide, had to wait it out for tide to change, which it did around 1:03 pm started to show signs of coming in, As the evening went along the stronger the current got, when the wind died down a little current slowed up, so did the bites.)
3 WATER CALRITY: (Looked good, see picture of lures in water it be a 3 plus most of the day, latter it be a 3 minus as it was coming in.)
4 HOLDING FISH: (51B, never left this place)
5 PATIENTS: (Needed plenty, from 9:36 to 12:54 was slow, weal slow, cast, cast, cat, nothing, but patients paid off.)
6 SKILL: (Knowing right place, waited for right time)
7 LUCK: ( Got the FORD transporter back so me could make this trip)

We talked it over, it was either me, meself or I, I lead the dead bait category, meself had the best conversations, but me was nothing but serious about the challenge we made on the ride to Delacroix.
SUGGESTIONS:
If they was ever a story that lends credence to our motto “YOU GOT TO GO TO KNOW” this be one for sure.
PONDER OF THE DAY:
There is only one happiness in this life, to fish and catch.
Q&A:
When fishing do you think crying is a sign of weakness or strength?
TEAM JO-JO’S FUTURE STRATAGEM:
Nothing plan, was supposed to go with Big Pablo, but no invite to go, so guess me no go and just rest up for next week……………………May be not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good Fishing
