Trestles trip this morning

Wife and I headed out to Trestles in Slidell this morning to break the Coronavirus isolation routine. Got right on some Reds early, had one 30” Red break my wife’s line right at boat, then another one right after that. She eventually boated a nice 17” drum and an 18” Red, all on V&G Terror Tail by Deadly Dudley in Blue Chartreuse. Water was calm and a little dirty with some algae bloom starting to show up at Trestles. Mississippi River water from Bonet Carrie Spillway quickly muddying up Lake Pontchartrain.😕 Later in the morning the wind picked up and tide starting moving and I got one nice 17” trout in cooler and missed several nice ones that got off before I could net them. Once wind started pushing up some white caps after lunch we headed in. Beautiful day on the Lake today!

Nice box of fish, I’ve haven’t fished in the lake since I was a kid, hope y’all have a speedy recovery this time , I saw on news that they started to close some of the bays , hopefully they shut it close soon so that the lake can recover, until then might as well enjoy it, next couple days gonna blow so I’m gonna go Friday chasing some crabs and bring a pole to play around with a catch and release day, in between my runs on nets , good luck on your next adventure out ,🧙‍♂️🎣

GB3,Nice box, thanks for shooting me pics of you and Loretta with nice fish. This Spillway Opening certainly might be one of the shortest on record and hope to get after some fish soon. For some reason, possibly MS River water already pouring into T-Funky,the water was not only lot higher than I anticipated but also extremely muddy!!!Got some good eats in dat box!!
