Had nice break in very busy gardening/yard debris clearing schedule and recently had carb issues with ole Southfork and decided I needed to test out the Seafoam/Gum Out fuel treatment I did plus draining bowls and cutting new cork air breather gasket for fine ole 50 hp Johnson that was screaming til T-Funky trip a few weeks ago, same time damn Lowrance Hook2-5 Tripleshot decided she no longer wanted to give depth readings.Combo of fixes, including running about half-gallon of non-ethanol(only gas I ever use)after dropping bowl screws on both carbs plus running Gum Out through throats of carbs while running musta been de medicine de ole gal needed! As far as doggone Lowrance, sending her back to Lowrance and receiving new unit obviously fixed problem but I was not 100% sure til we dropped de ole SouthFork into T-Funky at favorite Three Rivers Launch.Engine fired up,not quite immediately but water separator I installed should permanently solve water/debris issue, thankfully!!!First stop our typical T-Funky fish magnet and with the water as muddy and nasty as she was,was beginning to doubt a single fish would get landed.Within literally minutes of arriving at fish magnet, older son had sac a lait hooked but it spit hook right at boat and about same time,I nabbed what felt like either huge slab or decent bass and turned out to be chunky bluegill, nabbed Roadrunner with Bobby Garland bluish minnow on hook, plus Crappie Psychic Trailer(don't even think about slab fishing w/o Crappie Psychic Trailer)!!Saw lotta folks enjoying T-Funky today, got text from GB3 bout his Trestles trip today, bet I see post as he and Loretta caught a few and lost some monster reds!!!Had fun,now know ole Johnson 50 back to her ole screaming self, thankfully and will play with Lowrance to tinker with settings and hope to nab plenty, plenty more fine and fat slabs, using both SideScan and DownScan to find brushpiles, schools of slabs, etc!!!Gonna scope out winds, weather, tides, before next few trips, hope all staying well and safe-we feel fortunate to have plenty of space on our Mandeville property to not only enjoy the outdoors but also garden, raise chickens, pigs and have mini-farm and vegetable should be getting picked probably before end of this month!!Older son did nab fine and fat sac a lait near one of our favorite slab hot-spots!!
