Back To Back Cocodrie Speck Limit

Reply
May 1st, 2020 got a two man limit using vudo shrmip and live shrimp under a popping cork.
May 2nd, 2020 got a three man limit using live shrimp on the bottom with a slow drag. Attempted under a cork right off the bat but bite was slow compared to the day before so tried bottom and worked out great!

This has been shaping up to be a really great spec season. And the virus has got hundreds of boats on the water social distancing. I usually go to Delacroix, Hopedale, Shell Beach area. Thought I would try a little further north yesterday so I went to the Castle out of Chalmette. All the boats were headed south. Boy I thought I was really screwing up my day until my line hit the water. 18' 19' trout almost every cast. As the sun broke the horizon I had half my limit. Cocodrie I didn't smoke you. But I saved a little gas run, being out of Slidell.

Sucks dat de sheepshead done stole ya pole!!Awesome footage and gets me excited for a trip me and a buddy planning for this coming Friday-he loves tossing live shrimp and I favor hard and soft plastics.Placed order from Fish USA for some ultra-fine Yo Zuri holographic hard plastic suspending shrimp twitch baits. When specks busting up shrimp on surface, hard to beat suspending twitch baits and hope dem babies show up either today or tomorrow!!

Sweet! I was looking for Cocodrie related posts and came across this. I think you are my neighbor! I'm on Verret Street and recognize your house (I think) and remember seeing someone cleaning a PILE of specs on the carport. Ha...anyway...good stuff.

picknhand,Hope ya figured out easy way to transport ya yak, believe ya have Native yak. Probably got lotta folks in plastic boats tossing lures at fish and we have at least 3 yaks plus fleet of Chapman pirogues and gent dat found out bout my passion for crafting jigheads and wanting to craft custom rods and supremely-effective soft plastic swimbaits(NOT FOUND LOCALLY)lives down there as well. Got bunch of folks in S LA chasing fish. Beauty of this site for those willing to post, unlike lotta folks dat troll this site for OTHER peoples’ spots,is the shear cooperation and gent in Houma and I both share passion for custom gear and DO NOT toss ANY locally produced lures NO MATTER WHICH GUIDE(s) toss local stuff. Got much more effective swimbaits and can’t wait to craft a few. Hope ya get carrier for dat yak and if I get down dat way gonna look up fella making EXTREMELY effective CUSTOM UNIQUE swimbaits. Hard to beat hand-crafted,like great home-brewed beer and HOME-GROWN tomatoes😜
