This was one strange trip. Once I got to the area I wanted to fish I started out with a curly tail grub worm and immediately nabbed a puppy drum. After that, there were no takers for about an hour. I swapped over to a “BSOD†and had 0 hits after about 25 casts. I then changed over to a modified chicken/chain in-line spinner. It got one nice hit and then nothing for the next hour. I soon swallowed my pride and stooped down to gulp under a cork- still nothing. At this point I was ready to become “dead shrimp guy†but thankfully I didn’t have any dead shrimp. I took a break and started paying more attention to the water. All of a sudden I see a nice almost slot red cruising by. I drop the BSOD about 5 feet ahead and pull it towards him. As soon as it got about a foot away he hauls off. Now I am ready to throw in the towel, call it a trip, and start heading back to the launch. But before I do that, I swap over to a gold AD spoon. A few cast later… a bull. Next cast a slot. A couple casts later two more bulls. Then a few minutes later another slot. Here’s some highlights of a few of them!
