Decided to take the boat for a spin today to test out my new Lowrance TI2 Elite 9'. The lake was fairly calm with a slight NE wind. Water temp was 85 degrees. On the way out of the house I decided to bring a pole just to see if the fish had completely left the lake. When I arrived at the Causeway Bridge, almost immediately, I caught a rat red about 14'. Needless to say, he went right back in the water. About 15 minutes later and about 20 sets of pilings down hooked another redfish, 18'. He went in the box. I was just jigging the pilings with a Saltwater Assassin lure on a 3/8oz plain lead jighead. If the weather cooperates this weekend, I might try trolling the bridge. Anyone been fishing the train bridge or the Twin-spans?
