Fished Bay Eloi, Pretty much non stop action all morning. Tons of throwbacks but enough keepers mixed in. Live shrimp and Matrix under cork

Nice trip, just got off phone with buddy of mine who went with his brother in fine Boston Whaler and they had live shrimp, went as far as Free Mason Island and they caught very few fish, said NO ONE near him(at least 40 boats)was doing much and maybe he is a jinx!He said his brother nabbed fine 3 lb speck but bite shut down about immediately.Kinda glad I stayed off water today(de Wiz said boat parade was incredible),gonna pick and choose my days and might head to friendly confines of SShore next week, seeking some fine and 'plastic-friendly' reds all of about 2 minute ride from boat launch.Congrats once again, yall might have been the lucky ones,at least according to my fishing buddy!!Not giving up on Hopedale area but our results have been abysmal vs yours!!

Yeah buddy these boys love everything about fishing and eager to learn. Very satisfying to be a part of it

Was running late this morning. Normally launch well before daybreak, didn’t launch till 6:30 today. Campo’s crazy packed but it’s a well oiled machine. Didn’t take 10 minutes in line. Hats off to em. I’ll be “hooking the left” for years to come. I guess the parade mostly heads to the long rocks cause we fished wherever we wanted around Eloi. Most boats I saw concentrated today was at Deadman’s Island with about 10 boats. And I’ve been getting very good reports as of late at Free Mason and Comfort.

Fished Hopedale Saturday and it was pretty bad. But one thing I noticed. The water was previous week very high as evidenced from the fresh debris on the high banks. I think what happen to the fish was the toilet got flushed and took all the fish with it. I fished Chalmette the other day and was dodging 40 ft. Cypress trees floating in the marsh. The fish will be back when the water calms down a little. I burned up a tank of gas yesterday at Hopedale and did find some guys on the fish in small pockets. There is HOPE in Hopedale.

Bluewave 007,Sounds like you and my fishing buddy that hit Hopedale just yesterday had about same scenario. The water on NShore should and WILL be getting much better(we fished NShore this past Fri)and each of us tasted the water and salinity definitely getting MUCH better,at least where we fished!!Lotta fun chasing reds and bass prowling the thick grassbeds and hard to beat either sight-casting or blind-casting with hand-made spinnerbait and nabbing fish with dat lure(s).Patiently awaiting receipt of Angling AI aluminum mold, already have BTS mold for 3.5 in swimbaits and Angling AI mold is 4.0 inch and getting incredibly fine reviews from folks making their own swimbaits.Have bunch of Do-It jighead molds(just got in Manic Mullet Mold)and CCAguns lent me fine Do-It mold to make round 3/8 and 1/2 oz jigheads.Got great hooks for em,Gamakatsu and Mustad, both incredibly sharp and strong and the jigheads produced are incredible!!

De Wiz sent me a text alerting me to extremely short(21 seconds long)AJfishes You Tube and sounds like dey lit up de specks in Hopedale,39 specks and 1 red on plastics!!!Guess ya gotta find some 'plastic-friendly' fish!!!Just crossed Big Pond and water was slick-calm and looked extremely fish-friendly and we spotted HUGE schools of bait!!!Might hit either SShore PowerLine Pilings or NShore grassbeds this week, possibly could do both!!Think AJ had issue with SD card but did show nice box of fat specks, again all on plastics, the only way he fishes!!

Got reports from several different friends that fished yesterday 5/31 at the Long Rocks and hit several cuts and drains along the MRGO and around Lena Lagoon. No limits and had to battle the winds but still managed decent catches of speckled trout and sheep heads with a couple reds mixed in. And just as I have been experiencing on the last recent trip or two they had to weed through a ton of throwbacks but there are nice keepers mixed in making well worth going

Have not checked in with AJfishes but saw extremely short video clip pretty much have good idea where they fished and looked like very nice sized specks in dat box. Once I get new mold in and few more lure-making supplies, intend to toss AJ few custom hand-poured swimbaits for him to “field test”🎣🐠😎👍
