Had nice window of opportunity today, was solo, and got to Main St Launch just after a yak fisherman had launched and was hoping wind forecast was on de mark(it was exactly what I expected)and was hoping for nice falling tide(it was falling nicely).Lady P was a very calm lady today and made my way to exact spot(s)CCAguns and I fished yesterday and spotted two other fishing boats(respected distance)and did not see any fish boated today but did have un-identified lure smasher smack spinnerbait almost immediately(probably a jinx!!!)and did find incredibly clear stretches of water, spotted nice puppy drum dat chased spinnerbait, tossed spinnerbait at nice pair of reds, had one swipe at lure and dat was it as far as grassbeds, made my way to Causeway(glassy calm)and water clarity there(both sides of drawbridge and 4-mile turnaround)was excellent but suspended algae and funk not exactly fish-friendly and did foul-hook small blue catfish at 4-mile turnaround, winds picked up significantly and made my way back to Bayou Lacombe, tried few spots for bass and nada, headed in might head back out possibly Sun,winds and weather permitting and hope to show CCAguns a spot or two on local deer club tomorrow!!

Cute play on words, Mandevillian! Caught my Garmin echoMAP Plus 94sv today from the UPS man and got very excited as it will fit in space on my console without moving my Ritchie Compass!!! West Marine had Memorial Day sale and marked them down $300. If Cristobal doesn't affect us much, it should be installed and ready to fish next week, with my old Garmin 545S mounted on the bow!!!!

Awesome news and hope ole Lady P gets a good dose of high-salinity water. If I can dig up some ole cell phone photos, would love to show ya some quality specks dat came outta one of the trenasses I showed ya yesterday.Right after Katrina whacked our coast and tossed ole Lady P a serious dose of high-salinity water,my older son and one of his buddies and I caught probably 18-20 fine specks on one very memorable trip and think the smallest was over 16 inches, biggest close to 24 inches!!!Ole Causeway could use a dose of salinity and I joked with a fishing buddy of mine(actually predicted exactly what we would catch on Causeway trip)that about all we would nab dat particular Causeway trip would be a blue catfish and dat is exactly what I managed to catch!!Can't wait to see de Kenner Vision with new Garmin and we should easily be able to locate the Lacombe 3 Wells!!Maybe post Christobal, ole Lady P will reward us with some sight-casting reds and Causeway specks like she used to provide on regular basis.I did see at least 2 other Causeway fishers today, not sure if dey managed anything and from de looks of de water, dey lucky to catch blue catfish currently!!
