Reply
Went to the river one day last week and caught a mess of river cats on bay shrimp in the evening, fished for about an hour and and half and after the second shower I had enough

Would you share a little more info with me on river cats. Girl across street has 2 kids and wants to take them fishing. I will go with them but would like to take them somewhere where they could catch a couple. That sounds like a perfect outing. What river and did you bank fish or boat. I think you used shrimp. Thx for any help.

bigjim,I can most definitely point ya in right direction as far as T-Funky river cats are concerned. It harbors plenty of catfish and mostly blue and channel cats,as far as I know but bet there are some flatheads out there and nightcrawlers should be de ticket, plenty of sloughs to explore.I do not target em but have caught a few while deep-jigging soft plastics for sac-a-lait and have caught a few bass fishing, tossing near cypress knees, using Zoom Speed Worms, typically Texas-rigged Speed Worms in June Bug Red color.Hope dat helps and plenty folks use trot lines baited with perch chunks for catfish in ole T-Funky.Got Hopedale trip planned for tomorrow and going with a buddy and his grandson on Sun,most likely Sun gonna be Bayou Lacombe bass/redfish trip(assuming Lake P water clears a tad)!
