Many, many years ago,a fishing mentor taught me a neat trick to guestimate the weight of specks and it works very well-just take the length and use the second digit(eg a 25 inch speck should weigh approximately 5 lbs,a 20 inch speck would be close to 2 lbs)and using that formula,at a rodeo I participated in,was able to accurately(with in about 5 oz)guess the weights of just about EVERY speck I saw getting weighed and all I needed was the length!!!Pretty neat trick-try it sometime!!
