De Nuck and Futz Teal Season Re-Cap 2020

Wanted to provide a Teal Season re-cap of 2020 Teal Season and de Nuck and Futz Duo did ok this season,bagging 40 teal on 6 hunts(one was a total dud,Sat before last-I did not fire a shot).We hunt exclusively Public Options on NShore(sorry Bobrobglog-NEVER divuldge EXACT locations)and it took a doggone Act of Congress to twist de arm AND shoulder of Nuck to get him to abandon spots that USED to have not only teal BUT plenty of big ducks and been hunting some of these spots for about 20 years(again,Bobrobglog,ya aint got a clue how long I have hunted these spots,OBVIOUSLY)!!!Season started with each of us bagging a limit,his accomplished in record time,mine took a tad longer due to him being RIGHT on de 'X' and me being a tad aways from where I needed to be(hint,hint-I shoulda moved from get-go).Bottom line is we hunted as often as we could and every hunt but one yielded teal for each of us and Nuck bagged two full limits and had five a few times,my location did NOT have nearly the flight paths BUT I did redeem self on this past Sat(used older son's fine Russian 20gauge O/U and plunked down seriou$ coin for HeviHammer Bismuth shells(dey pack a whallop)and Sunday.Fired exactly five shells,bagged five teal and on one shot on wing dropped two Hammer Dead!!Sunday took four shots and dispatched four teal,so I did miss on one shell but five teal with five shots aint half-bad!!!We tried a few spotd fishing,caught a few fish and Nuck donated his speck from yesterday and duck hunt buddy from MANY moons ago sent all de proof I needs to chase some Lady P fish,thanks!!Hope all is well with everyone and love me my Public Options on NShore!!!Totals-Nuck bagged 25 Futz bagged 15!

Glad you had some good hunts. We had some good and bad ones. Flooded roads being closed for awhile cancelled a lot of hunts. On another note that Hammer Time stuff is expensive! For teal season I use my .20 gauge with Federal Upland 2 3/4' #6 steel shot. $6.00 a box at Walmart. Never had a cripple!

Congratulations guys on a nice teal season, impressed with your efforts on north shore public land. I knew things must have been going well since your lack of reports were obviously much fewer than last season, when you were reporting depressing results on a daily basis. Looks like teal season in Louisiana was a big success all over, reports of great hunts have been pouring in! Hope the big duck season is just as good here in our great State of Louisiana. I look forward to having the Nuck and Futz duo back up to my place in Lake Village, Arkansas for another duck hunt this year! Great job guys, thanks for sharing update and pics.

GB3,Never will forget de look on Ole Nuck's face when ya sent me de invitation to join ya on ya Lake Village Quack Shak!!!Ole Nuck gonna be retired at end of this month,gonna have PLENTY idle time on his hands and he and I met by total happenstance many,many moons ago when we used to really bust our tails making extremely long paddle-in hunts,some of which were epic hunts but lotta busts and we each considered taking up golf vs chasing phantom ducks!!Mike,ya definitley right bout dem pricey shells but physics tells us dat density KILLS and Bismuth very dense,hence PACKS a serious punch.Too bad my first pic with two stone-dead teal did not really show the volume of feathers cut from just ONE shell!!!First shot Sun dropped two on-the-wing teal DOA!!!They pricey but shooting five shells,bagging five teal aint too shabby and might pack this fine lil O/U with me at least at beginning of Regular Season.Did get two boxes of dem 2.75 cheapies but have not fired a single shell.If Regular Season turns out to be a dud,might tag ole Russian O/U for my version of flooded timber woodies,might stumble upon some trophy greenheads,ya never know!!!Got pic from a long-time ago duck diehard,he nabbed plenty fat specks Sat/Sun NO LOCAL lures were harmed in de process,ole time sparkle beetles did de damage!!!!

I ain’t shot one teal. They weren’t anywhere around me this season, I heard lots of reports but the only teal I seen in range was before season while fishing.

mulletsquisher,Thanks and looking forward to Regular Duck Season,hope springs eternal and looks like lotta folks shot plenty teal.Glad we located few likely spots and hope greys and mallards and who knows,maybe some widgeons might show up to go along with some teal that seem to like certain areas!!Just getting back from awesome Ozarks annual(soon gonna be twice a year)vacation!!!Ozarks stunning,especially with leaves starting to change colors!!
