Had just enough of a window of opportunity this am(dummy me forgot to put box of shells in backpack last night)and thank God I left myself plenty of time as I arrived at my nice lil tree rat honeyhole, only to discover dat I left entire box of shells at home-high-tailed it back home, gassed up ole Maxima that our older son had just replaced both CV joints(he did an awesome job)and made it back, only to see older vehicle parked about where I had initially parked(no big deal,I stalk tree rats EXTREMELY quietly)and first tree rat I saw unfortunately spotted me and scampered away, the next two not so lucky and dat Russian 20 gauge O/U incredibly lethal on small game.Got one more on stalk back to vehicle and had I not spooked both(they were in same tree)mighta nabbed both.Last tree rat got hung up in crook of tree and had to blast him one more time to get him to drop.First two were doa!!!Headed to our Medicare Kiosk this afternoon, got me three tree rats for Wifey to cook and add older son's to!!!Love this time of year, nice chill in air, woods still kinda moist making for relatively quiet stalks, love ambushing bushy-tails!!!

Yeah, I might walk the fence row in the morning and knock a few out the pecan trees.

Steelsprayer,Love dat nickname and guess what,I used 2.75 inch Federal Steel(very inexpensive shells-all of about $6 box)and de Wiz texted me after I sent him pics, will try to attach to post, and he asked if steel required on WMA's.Told him steel NOT required but I have not found high-brass lead for dat sweet-shooting O/U.Drops em like a hammer!!!Good luck tomorrow =,got Wal Mart Medicare Booth in Ponchatoula to tend to after 8:00 am mass at St.Jane de Chantal!!!Taking older son fishing this coming Sat(HATE week end fishing trips)!!!
