Youth Duck Hunt in Delacroix

This morning I had the opportunity to take Shannon Prokasy and his son Mitchell out on a youth duck hunt in the Delacroix marsh. We had a quick hunt thanks to Mitchell’s good shooting. He had his limit by 6:25 witch consisted of 2 Greys, 2 Redheads, 1 Mottled Duck, 1 Scaup, and a bonus Hooded Merganser. I was s actually surprised with the hunt results. I have not been seeing many ducks the last few weeks but they were moving in today and continued to try to decoy as we finished the hunt. After the hunt, Shannon, Mitchell, brother Errol Dennis, Paw-Paw and I got to work relocating, bracing, anchoring, and brushing more blinds. We have 5 ready to go for opening morning and will finish a few more after next weekend’s hunts. A big thank you to Shannon and Mitchell for their help today, we could not have done it without them.

The Season is shaping up to be a good one. Blinds are ready but will continually be touched up throughout the season. Let me know if you want to book a hunt! I have a few openings still available for both splits.

Proud Pop,Great hearing that your section of Paradise survived after I got a few reports of certain areas being rolled up like a huge aquatic carpet and dumped!!!As ya know,de Nuck and Futz Duo hunts the Public options available on NShore and best news I coulda gotten is dat ole Nuck officially 100% retired(lucky guy)and I always clear my Medicare Consulting Schedule to have Wed and Th off every duck week!!!Youth on E Zone coming up,I gots no utes to take and still gotta lotta work to do on my mom's Kenner rental!!Hope E Zone Opener in few weeks fares out well and good luck down in de Parish!!!

Thanks Mandi, we did get pretty tore up from the Hurricane. We lost the roof and some rafters on the boat shed. The land, especially closer inside has lost a lot of area. Our blinds we all messed up and it took a major effort to put them back together, move back to where they were, or just completely rebuild from scratch. Was glad to see the ducks showing up this weekend, I was very nervous about the season since I have not seen ANY ducks the last month. Looking forward to spending opening morning in the blind with my dad!
