DUCK HUNTS

ducks have all but left our area the last week or so .. hunted saterday and sunday only killed 2 .. looked at duck log for first split and we killed 110 ducks so far ..thank God for first 2 weeks having the ducks . hopefully this 2 week break will get them back in the area .Also side note 2 of the only ponds that had this green slime grass last year, that grass is gone ,, and the ducks loved that stuff !!!!

yeah Dredger... rough start we had a couple birds here and there this weekend. Shot a pair of widgeon. Hadn't seen a widgeon in years 20+. Perfect conditions on Sunday just nothing moving and no one hunting.
Strange... and we have that slime u talking bout.

Lord only knows where the ducks in our area went and just this past Wed could NOT get any of three HUGE flocks to even give my spread a second look!!!Got phenomenal feed situation and water levels this past week end were about as perfect as one could hope for.Hoping to get on some nice mallards second split and perhaps the BEST news I got was that my older son,32,wants to join dear old dad-we have not hunted ducks together in MANY years and he never shied away from making long treks to where we consistently see plenty ducks emerging from their resting ponds to get to their feeding ponds!!Dat gonna be de ticket second split,at least there is some glimmer of hope!!!

hopefully the ducks find that slime for yall ,like i said it worked for us and we shot a few widgeon also this year ... and pintail.. been years since we saw widgeon also .
