Reply
Been busting my butt chasing virtually non-existent waterfowl(other than a few tree ducks)and got a chance to hit dem Tracks with none other than one dem Tracks Experts,AJ Lacava!!Got invite and texted him yesterday evening and coordinated with Bayoubob(Nuck)to let him know I was having slight change in plans, not chasing dem elusive and invisible ducks!!!Better fishing conditions vs duck hunt conditions,at least for Wed,Th gonna be totally different story, hope and pray that not only do we have water but ducks to pursue!!!Can't wait to hit dem Tracks with AJ!!!

I’m thinking about heading out that way, myself...Wednesday morning. Keep an eye out for the big Gaudet Aluminum Boats dual console with the 300 Suzuki.

On a side note, I’ve never fished north of Highway 90 on that end.

Guys,Gotta pay credit where credit is due-AJ and I pounded and pounded dem Tracks with a variety of soft plastics dat USUALLY work but other than him getting tail chewed off soft plastic and me and him possibly missing a few short-striking specks at de Tracks,he managed to nab three decent specks in one of the canals out that way,ole-school lure did de trick and I unfortunately got skunked!!Told him gonna MAKE de time to fashion some custom swimbaits and make sure he and de Wiz and Causeway Dave get a nice supply!!Water out there outstanding, think cold temperatures put serious damper on fishing today and Bayoubob opting outta duck trip tomorrow-might hit Honey Island for some woodies tomorrow!!Thanks,AJ,appreciated you taking me out there, gonna re-convene soon and got some fine T-Funky spots I wanna show ya-have a few 1.5-2.0 slabs coming from a few choice areas and possibly this Mar will get 5.02 T-Funky chunk from Sonny Miller Taxidermy!!

I pounded them tracks, today, too. Yes! That water was BEAUTIFUL!! Just wasn’t moving hardly at all. Ended up with one of them green trout from below Hwy 90 marsh. Talked to a pair of guys picking up their boat at the launch...two guys had one fish between them. Saw them out on the tracks, too. Can’t say how impressed I was with the water color and clarity. Fished the rocks on the south shore for a little bit...could see bottom in 5-6’ of water.

+Blue Shamu,Bet once the waters around dem Tracks heat up to maybe 60 degrees, specks again gonna be prevalent out there.Might be time for me to seek out some deep sac a lait in T-Funky or Bayou Lacombe!Bet if one spent bunch of time using electronics and patience, specks might be found in Lakeshore Estates and Eden Isles canals.Personally know awesome spot for reds that USED to have PLENTY specks and lotta folks would venture there, get frustrated and leave while I stayed the course and would not wear em out but would emerge with plenty specks dat did NOT need measuring, some up to 3 lbs!!!

Saw a post on another site where a troller put a hurting on specks at the Trestles today, not my cup of tea to troll and joked with AJfishes and he agreed dat trolling aint his idea of fishing.Got ducks and deer on de brain right now, schedule clearer than ever and gonna get in some fishing pronto, gonna have plenty time for fishing!!!Tough choices but ROTTEN duck season making it easier to toss in de towel as far as ducks concerned(Honey Island woodies MAY ease de sting,BUT gotta convince em to drop from stratosphere!!!)Might just have to visit de Wiz in his playground and nab a few fat specks, just quite a haul to get down there and if Tracks producing, why not pound em!!
