A Pelican Makes A Duck Hunt With Us

Reply
As we all know 2020 was a very strange year in all aspects so there is no reason the last duck hunt of 2020 should be any different. Yesterday, 12/31/20 me and Rooster were making a duck hunt and a pelican landed in the pond then swam over to our boat then jumped up on the transom. After that it made its way toward the middle of the boat and stayed between us for at least 30 minutes as the video shows. Obviously in all my years of duck hunting that has never happened, but you have to be out in the marsh for things like that to happen.

We ended up shooting 2 greys, 4 teal and 1 dosgris for the hunt. Considering how things have been going this season a decent hunt. The killer was while picking up ducks during the hunt three pintail went right over the decoys. We could have easily shot two of them.

Happy New Year and happy hunting.

Delta,Dat was ultra-cool and not surprised given the ridiculously strange year we just ended. When Nuck and I spot flocks of either white or brown pelicans, dat is usually bout time to toss in de towel.Yep know all about ducks wanting to dive-bomb ya once guns cased up or blinds taken down, has happened to be about every hunt and the way my season has unfolded, might have to dismantle blind at typical time but keep Beretta loaded and keep mask on and have ear plugs in just in case!!!Hopefuly this year will bring in something to keep us going!Taking Wifey and grandson fishing after New Year's Day meal, can't be worse than last few duck hunts and checking out some fine,hard-to-access ponds for Nuck,Futz,AJ Trio hunt tomorrow!!!

Sadly, might be sick. There's an article about avian cholera that describes symptoms including erratic behavior and wobbling head.
