White kitchen nature preserve.

Has anyone fished the white kitchen nature preserve in slidell?

Any tips regarding perch, bluegill, catfish and bass would be appreciated.

Chilibean,I love that place,not sure why I seem to catch only one lunker sac a lait(black and chartreuse tube jigs killer on sac a lait)each trip and do nab some fine bass.I have seen folks trolling for sac a lait,maybe try dat and look at Google Maps and pin-point likely spots and dat should help ya.Plenty of spots to explore and ya might see me out there as soon as duck season 20/21 ends,what a sad duck season we are experiencing!Good luck,get comfortable using tube jigs under slip corks,allows one to rapidly adjust depth and from what the sac a lait masters tell me,sac a lait like to feed up so it pays to alter depth until ya find the 'sweet spot'!!Bass almost always gonna fall for Zoom Speed Worms Texas-rigged and I do not target catfish and perch but using cork with tube jigs should yield some fine perch and bluegills.

Well, I tried white kitchen preserve the other day. Warm, nice weather, low wind. Got skunked. No bass on a junebug worm. No perch on jigs under a cork. No bream on worms. Not so much as a bump.

Chilibean,Hate to say dis but dat why dey calls it fishing not shopping(LOL).Seriously,did ya see others catching anything??That place holds plenty fish,probably just a bad day out there and tossing June Bug Red Speed Worms all along the banks paralleling 190 should produce some bass,if nuttin' else!!Don't give up on that place and keep at it!!

How the perch fishing in there? Also, have you fished with shiners? If so, how did you do?

Have not fished there in few years,though might have to make a trip out there.I use exclusively soft plastics bet shiners would light up sac a lait and bass,worms and crickets should entice perch,bet there are some big perch out there.Like I said,not sure why I only seemed to manage just one huge sac a lait on my two last trips out there but should have plenty of sac a lait.Might hit a few Honey island wood duck ponds once season for ducks ends next Sun!
