Wifey and I wanted to spend some time on T-Funky today, had new waterproof container securely stored under steering console and we took the extra step of getting bag of ice last night on our way home from Kenner after getting lotta work done on my mom's Kenner rental house.Launched outta 4th street and right away figured we were gonna struggle so we headed to exact spot where I nabbed fine Kentucky bass just a week ago.Water was very stained, even as far N as Bogue Falaya Park and I did try flashy orange Rapala Blades lure but got zero takers, swapped out for June Bug Red Zoom Speed worm and funny thing is Wifey needed to contact Blue Cross Blue Advantage Hot Line for recent client and she had gent on speaker phone, told him where we were and his first question was if we had nabbed any fish and not too long after he asked I felt nice thump, set hook on fine Kentucky bass and it had a follower, much smaller than the hooked bass and Wifey grabbed net to get fish aboard and it spit hook right next to boat and follower scooted away-woulda been funny if she had netted BOTH!!!We tried a few spots for sac a lait, spotted numerous huge gar and on our way back to 4th St Launch, saw two gents in flat net fine sac a lait and the fisher tried,in vain,to shield me from view of fish and I gave him thumb's up,turns out he and driver of flat got to 4th St Launch about same time as Wifey and I!!!Think they had maybe 7 fish, admitted they were small sac a lait!!!Gonna keep heading out to same spots, sac a lait magnet not attracting slabs right now but just matter of time before fine slabs gonna be getting nabbed!!!Might hit some saltier fish this Th!!
