Purchased a Polaris Ranger 800 xp new in 2009 and have been very pleased with it. Still running strong to this day with around 1800 hours on it. Of the features the newer ones come with, I would gladly take power steering and position of the engine. On my model the bench seat is directly over the engine. After running for a while heat from the engine creeps up from under the seat. Polaris solved this by moving the engine further back. Its not bad in the winter, acts like a heater. But can be uncomfortable in the summer. No longer a problem since they moved the engine further back. Also for what its worth I had two separate friends that bought Honda SXS last couple years. After spending a weekend with me in the Polaris they both traded in their Hondas for Polaris 900's. They were both loyal Honda customers but in their case it was the seating arrangements that made them switch. At the time Honda was only offered as a two seater where as the Polaris came with a bench seat. Since we all bought SXS's in the first place to be able to shuttle our kids mostly, having a bench seat made more sense. I don't know how their seating arrangements are offered today but worth considering. No matter which SXS you choose, I highly recommend purchasing a windshield. Makes a HUGE difference in the wintertime. And I would get one that canters open or flips down for summertime use. Another thing I would consider a must is a roof. I'm pretty sure a lot of the SXS's come with a plastic roof now a days. Whether it does or not, I would upgrade to a metal roof. I can't tell you how many times I use the roof to stand on. Filling up corn feeders just as an example. You can't do that with the plastic roofs. Good luck with your purchase. Both are fine machines, I'm sure you'll be happy with either. That said, get your checkbook ready for all those add on purchases. They are all so tempting and endless
