Have absolutely no problem keeping fish for food if done selectively and when I mean selectively,I am referring to size and species.I have a buddy who claimed to have never caught a striper and on one trip to the Causeway,he nabbed a big striper and knowing what I now know,we might have been better off releasing this fish as it had a lotta red meat that we needed to strip away before eating and not only that, the meat was somewhat course.Word to wise, only keep much smaller stripers and same applies to specks, reds, largemouth and spotted bass.Makes perfect sense in that larger fish have been eating other fish and over time, their flesh may have a somewhat 'fishy' taste, not exactly what I tend to favor. My 0.02!!
