Pond Fishing Heating Up

Reply
Decided to break out the Zebco 33 combo with a small single blade spinner bait and fished the pond behind our house. The sac-au-lait and the bass were hungry. I caught two nice bass and one sac-au-lait between about 5 or 6 casts. Thought to myself, this will make a nice meal for my wife, my middle daughter coming into town tomorrow and me. So, cleaned them real quick and went back out for some more catch and release action. Caught another sac-au-lait and two more nice bass. Hooked a third bass; and to this moment, he is probably still swimming around that pond with a spinner bait in his lip. Not a bad afternoon! Caught all the fish up close, casting parallel with the bank and fairly quick retrieve. Fun hearing that little Zebco drag screaming and watching them bass tail dancing!

BlueShamu,Nice catch, indeed!Me and older son planning on setting up fine and sturdy 10 by 12 greenhouse we just got from Harbor Freight and gonna put new cover on huge 10 by 20 greenhouse we set up using 10 by 20 portable carport cover and simply enclosed all four sides, just gets weather-beaten and we typically have to replace clear covering every few years(just ordered a new 12 by 24 clear cover for roof).Very nice greenhouses and we love starting our huge vegetable gardens all from seeds. After setting up new greenhouse, plan to seek some T-Funky slabs and possibly few fat and sassy bass as well.Ole T-Funky has miles and miles of extremely productive spots, just gotta go 2 Know!!Big garden needs sturdy fencing and got incredible price on 7ft tall fencing from Tractor Supply, just gotta MAKE the time to set up fencing, keep dem deer at bay!!

Mande - just picked up one of those ?new to me? Ron Chapman Cottonmouth pirogues from a fine gentleman here on LAS. I am thinking about slipping that into some waters where a might double up on slabs and bushy tails, this weekend. You and me are gonna have to go do some paddling, together! Fits just right in that GMC longbed.

BlueShamu,Those Chapman pirogues, especially with the synthetic gunwales are extremely durable. Too bad tree rat season just about over but sac a lait about to explode just bout everywhere !Let’s try to get together sometime.

This is the last weekend for squirrel….and a few days during the week, next week. I was thinking about floating around either Sherburne or Maurepas, Saturday morning. They both have good fishing and a healthy squirrel population. I have a .17 Mach 2 that takes care of business with them squirrel. It has been feeling neglected, lately.
