Got a request from a true Lake P Legend,Dr.Robert Weiss,to join him today on a quest aboard his fine Blue Wave 24 ft bayboat,powered by 300 Merc and I was more than glad and honored to join him.We should have our noggins examined as when we met up at Mandeville Harbor,more than one boater suggested we pack it in and either find a better day or perhaps wait til seas possibly subsided somewhat and we decided to make a go of it,kinda glad we did as we did catch a few fish,I lost two nice specks and true doormat flounder,Doc graciously donated his four specks,believe he nabbed them on Matrix Lemonhead,I nabbed flounder on Limetreuse Shaker and the two thick specks fell to Vampire,again Shaker 3.75,very fine soft plastic tailor-made for de jigging enthusiast!!He did catch under-sized speck and white trout,not sure if they also fell victim to Lemonhead.Waves we were greeted with had to be 3-5 and was hard to feel bite but I did feel two thick specks just missed em both,one while boat-flipping,the other came immediately from bottom to surface,shaing head vigorously and spit doggone hook!!Was a pleasure,Doc,can't wait to get back out there soon,good luck in Venice,put dem Shakers to great use!!!Taking my two AJ's to Trestles tomorrow,can't be worse than Big Bridge was today!!!
