My understanding is that you just go down somewhere that sells licenses and give them the child's name, b-day, and ssn. They will then be assigned a number by the LDWF and get a set of tags for free.

have a tag printed or cut out of the book for you and each kid that kills. Need the tag on you at the time of the kill.
I laminate one and keep a sharpe marker in the back of my bike and keep it all in a ziplock and it all held up last season.

Actually the tags in the book is not what you use this year. From my understanding, it is a tag that has too be attached to the deer as soon as it is downed. When you get your license, you will have the tags attached. I believe you will have to call a number on the tag within a certain amount of time after a kill.

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

GREAT
Actual Physical tags. That is GREAT I never though it would happen due to cost.
I have never heard a 4 year old taking a deer but, I am sure someone/ somewhere has..
I hope to corn the whole road this year and let my 4 year old watch the deer this year.

well i can barely kill a deer myself iam sure my 6 tage would cover the 3 of us with no prob i was just wondering and i am sure some of you have kids under 16 that will need a full set af tags for themselves. i can tell you this my 4 year old will be in a box stand with a .243 and he wont be scared to pull the trigger.

I know in Texas kids under 16 get a whole set of tags for 6 bucks. I think that it will be the same.

This past season my son killed his first antlered buck(5pt). Uncertain about where to list it or on who's card to list it I contacted the LDWF. They told me to fill out a seperate card for my son and use his birthday for the license #. I would not put a SSN on anything that does not require it.

I believe people are confusing last years system with the upcoming system. Last year we had to fill out the generic card as soon as an animal was taken. This year we will have tags which are identifiable to the licensed individual. Two totally different systems.
