Does anyone know where to buy bulk corn, maybe a mill close to lake charles lafayette area...

Quit worrying about corn. Fill your feeders with soybeans, they are cheaper and better for the deer. Plus from what I have seen the deer like the beans better than the corn.

I agree with 150...I havent bought a sack of corn in at least 5 years. Soybeans are cheaper and you can usually by them at any feed store or if you know a any bean farmers they will sell them to you right out the field or dryer. I have seen great results compared to corn. Even been known to mix a little rice bran in with the beans for even better results. Also try just plain rice bran Im just about to the point they like rice bran better than corn or sobeans. They will get muzzle deep in a pile of rice bran....even seen a few does on several different ocassions fight over a pile of it.

Saw the 40 lb. bag clean feeder corn for $4.86 at Wally World. If you decide to get bulk corn sift it good if using a timer. The pieces of cob can jamb the spin plate and ruin hunt and break motor. Also, has alot of dust so after season clean timer and put a few drops of oil down motor shaft. I don't know much about soy bean, but have heard it can get molded in barrel after a while and clumps up. Hunt hard and live long.

Dspeckslayer,
Find you one of the grain elevators in your area. There has to be one there in Lake Charles or Lafayette area somewhere. I know there are various rice bran mills in the Lafayette/New Iberia area.

I agree with lilbuck. Where are you finding soybeans for less than corn. The cheapest I can find soybeans is 20 for a 50 lb bag. Corn is ridiculous this year as well at 7 for 50.

My neighbor works for Zenoh Grain down in Gramercy. He told me they are getting $180 per ton corn and $220 per ton for Soybeans. They also carry rice bran on occasion and they are always much cheaper.

Hey Bayou, I never said I hunt over the stuff did I or anyone else here. I feed year round with supplements, vitamins, nutrients and corn soybean and tons of food plots. It helps the deer grow healthy and strong. I also put our milk feed the same thing you feed cows when they are pregnant and when they first deliver so the calves/fawns are born healthy and have higher weights. I do what needs to be done to grow my deer. I have no stands over food plots or corn. I put it out to help the deer. But this is america and you are entitled to your opinion. And for all of the hunters who hunt over corn and soybeans and foodplots, keep up the good work. I hunt to eat

Country Acres horse feed 9%, aka sweet feed, nothing and i repeat nothing works like this. Its got molasses mixed in and its just ridicules. Deer will come to it like no tommorow. I have three lanes on one stand with feeders each loaded with sweet feed at the end of each lane, have shot two deer same evening. Both deer were in their persepctive lanes at the same time as the first deer was shot, with only about fifty (50) yards of dense woods between the end of both lanes. The second deer never moved at the report of the shot and was shot moments later less than one minute. The second deer never picked her head up from the sweet feed pile. Lanes are only 100 yds long. Also seen numerous times where a several deer were in the feed and one deer is shot the others flee only to return within moments to feed around the dead deer. Never seen anything like they love it, I'm no astrophysicist but I suspect all of that molasses might have something to do with it. Just my opinion.

You know it. I will send them across the barren waste land that used to be trees. So who is this I am talking to.
