Opening Day

Reply
Opening day was a success in my book. I shot a nice doe in the morning in LA that ran 65 yards and crashed. Then, another doe in the afternoon in MS that dropped in its tracks. My guest shot a nice 240lb hog in the afternoon.

This morning I watched a 2.5yr. old 8 pt. (14" velvet) feed for over an hour and distances as close as 7 yards. Looking forward to a great season.

Spencer,

That is nice...Had 3 that just wouldnt come in close enough to get a shot on yesterday evening. I was hoping to get a shot off as it is was only my 3rd bow hunt ever but they had other ideas...Never got within 50 yards of me and just seemed to know that something wasnt right...Hopefully going back Sunday evenong so we will see if my luck changes. Good luck this year.

Actually, that is the ENTRANCE wound from a Rage 2 blade broadhead, straight through the shoulder and punched out the other side. I'm very impressed with them.

In LA, I hunt in EBR parish. In MS, I hunt in Wilkinson County near Fort Adams.

Shaun: Hope you get one soon. Good luck.

We were below Woodville and Tuesday morning we were planting foodplots in Leslie... Man that is some of the hillest stuff I have ever seen...You fall off in there and you may not EVER be found...But it was really good looking place. Are you in that area or are you closer to Ft Adams?

Craig, you didn't miss anything Sat. afternoon by leaving early. The birds didn't start flying until after shooting hours.

Shaun,
My place is in the flat, bottomland b/w Fort Adams and Lake Mary.

Good luck.
