well got a new handi rifle in the 45-70 last year just to mess with a little and was waiting patiently to try it out on something this season since i been shooting the new hornady loads and lever-evolution scope combo. couldn't believe the accuracy. well this big boy was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, i guess he was moving cause of the front comming through sunday evening. 250 lbs 11 point, 18 and half inch inside with 5 3/4" bases i have never seen one like it before and never knew he was there either got camera out there since august too! killed outside franklinton, la in washington parish. all i had was neck shot bout 110 yards out from him standing halfway out in my shooting lane..... pulled it just a hair- hehehe i love this sport and live for those moments!

Dude, that is a great deer from anywhere. Also, shot placement is meant to kill. Never forget that if you kill the tail the head will die too.
Very fine animal, congrats!

Fantastic deer. Especially to breakin the new NEF....Now get rid of the MossyOak hat for a "TEAM REALTREE" hat. Gotta keep it all in the family!! And get back out there after another one.

Nice deer, definitely one to be proud of. I'm on private land on west side of river near Richardson, still waiting on the first buck of the season. Send some my way!

that's an awesome buck no doubt...but if you had a neck shot, why in the hell would you shoot it in the temple??? when there's antlers of that caliber it's ok to damage a little meat...hahaha. risky shot or not either way congrats.
