THANKS TO ALL FOR ALL THE INFO. beretta682gold..... SHE IS A PRETTY "STOUT OL'GIRL" lilcajunZ71..... I HAVE DONE TRIED TO GET HER TO SHOOT MY 270 AND MY 30-06. I WISH SHE WOULD BUT SHE WONT. HELL I AM JUST EXCITED SHE WANTS TO START DOING SOMETHING I HAVE ENJOYED FOR YEARS, FROM A LITTLE NUCKLEHEAD HUNTING WITH MY DAD, PAW-PAW AND BROTHER. NEXT ON THE AGENDA WILL BE MY 6 AND 5 YR. OLDS ON THE TOPIC... SERIOUSLY THANKS TO EVERYONE. FOR THE SERIOUSNESS AND THE HUMOR.

Got the Remington Managed Recoil 30-06 125 gr. for my 11 yr. old son to use and he said the kick is hardly noticable. Winchester makes them also. Just another option you have without buying another gun.

my wife's shooting 125 grains in HER 30.06...she doesnt complain at all, and shes not a big girl, only around 120 lbs or so...she has shot 180 grain and kinda felt it lol, but she doesnt mind when shes shooting at a deer....buy a box of 125 grains and let her try it out.

Federal also makes a 170 grain reduced loads. Good to 200 yards but with a bit of a drop. I prefer this bullet to the 125 for knockdown power up close (inside 130 yards)

Just my 2 cents, but check it out. Recoil about equal to a 243.
