Bass fishing avoyelles

Has anyone done any good bass fishing in avoyelles parish?

Been ripping there lips off in Grand Lake Rod N Gun Club. Been cathing them on big rolly pollies that my niece catches in my flower bed.

Were is that at,is it a private lake? If so how do you fish it i just moved form up north trying to find a place to fish.

Hi nascar31 and welcome to Avoyelles. Central La (including Avoyelles) has some decent bass fishing. There are several WMA's in the area that have good fishing and there is also the Red River and its oxbows. The Red River system is probably the fastest growing fishery in our local area. You can travel a short distance outside of Avoyelles and find some fish also. There a several lakes in Rapides and Evangeline parish that are only a short ride. Good luck.

Lots of good natural lakes to fish in Avoyelles. Smith Bay in Grassy Lake WMA; Spring Bayou WMA, Bayou des Glaises. I hear they are putting grass carp in Spring Bayou, so maybe that fishery will imporve. With all the recent rains, natural stuff might be muddy. The Red river is high here in Alex, but the oxbows may not be too dirty.
