Flood of 2008

Went to the camp in Arkansas over the weekend. Instead of driving in, we boated all the way to the camp. Water was 12 inches from coming in our camp and is still rising. There was 12 foot seven inches of water over the gravel road. It was a crazy sight to see!!!!!

Where in Arkansas is your camp? I live in Little Rock, just curious.

Its located 35 miles southeast of Dewitt. Near Merrisach Lake.

is dewitt anywhere near monticello or starcity?? it sounds familiar?im in a lease just west of star city

Very familar with the area. I have a camp on the AR river outside of Dewitt. Looks like there is going to be a flood of record at Pendelton (Dumas) on the Arkansas river. I built this page to keep up with the river levels, maybe you will find it useful:

just got off the land line w/ some friends in se Mo. and i think ya'll got a bunch more water coming down your way.

Had reservations at Lake Degray just out of ardadelphia for next week-end and got a call from the park canceling the reservations. Said that the lake was 10 ft. above flood stage and the water was rising. The park has been completely shut until further notice. Was also told that Lake Catherine has been shut down due to high water.
