IWFA 2008 Louisiana "Reds and Specks" Tournament

Reply
Last Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the IWFA ladies held their 2008 Reds and Specks tournament. These ladies come from all over the country to compete in the tournament and also spend time with friends they have made over the years in the tournament. On day one I fished with Pam Marmin and Merrily Dunn and the two combined for a total of 160 reds. Day 2 I fished with Linda Dockendorff and Kathy Holeman and they caught 121 reds between them. Day 3 I fished with Connie O'Day and Susan Gros and they caught a total of 60 reds. All respectable days but big numbers were put up by other guides teamed up with other anglers. Congratulations to Captains Boola Mills, Ross Barkhurst and Brandon Carter who finished first, second and third respectively and helped each of their anglers each day to put up incredible numbers. Also congratulations to Kathy Holeman who won the event against very stiff competition.

Thanks Jeff! It was pretty fun seeing them ladies catching all them fish, I don't know about you, but they wore me out and my hands are cut up and sore from unhooking and releasing all them fish. Hey and didn't you finish 4th? ya gave us credit at least give your self some, good job!

Agree with Boola, my hands are tore up! When you can catch over 400 redfish and finish in Third, you know you've got some stiff competition! Congratulations to Ross and Boola and also to you for your 4th place finish to back up last years 1st. Now we can all get back to fishing!

Jeff:

Connie and I enjoyed fishing with you on the last day. You know the fishing is good in Venice when you ONLY catch 69 redfish on 8# test between two ladies.

I am looking forward to next year as I am sure all of the IWFA ladies are.
