I like #6, but can't seem to find any right now. I have some left over #4's from last year that I will probably use.

# 6
I use 6 shot for all of duck season.
The only time I go up to 4 ,3, or 2 is if there was no #6. Or if for some reason mallards start to show up.
#6 shot has the best pattern from my gun.

# 6
I ways use number 6 shot 3 inch... cause it is light and fast and not to big and wont mess up the teal as much

#3's
I shoot one shell for ALL ducks.. 1 3/8oz #3's Seems to work well with my gun and choke... With shooting one shell for everything, there is no worry about speed change later during the season... Yea it's over kill,,, but dead is dead

6 SHOT
Sidewinders or stingers depends on the range and speed

With steel, most people use 4's or 6's for teal to keep a dense pattern and the smaller shot doesn't tear up the lil birds as bad.

If you got a few extra bucks laying around, the #6 Wingmaster HD is a helluva load for all ducks, teal to mallards. Super dense patterns and each little pellet packs more wallop than a #2 steel at comparable distances. Plus the softer shot responds to choking a lot better as well.

20 ga.
not to hijack this thread but? would yall still use a #6 shot if you were using a 20ga

7 1/2
#7 1/2 LEAD is absolutly the best shot for teal but if your a legal beagle use #6 steel anything other than 2 3/4 shells is overkill and also a waste of money

I use 6
I use 6 shot low brass 2 3/4. I use a I/C choke all year. With a 20 I would use 6 shot 3 inch. More power for more BB. I use 4 shot 3 inch for big ducks. I have start trying 3 inch 6 shot. It helps that I shot at 30 - 40 yard shot. I don't like to shot over 40 yards. Even with 2 shot I find for me that the percentage of a kill and recovery drops.

Also think how close the birds would get if WE ALL shot at my range. Instead of 50 and 60 yards because the next guy is sky busting.

For teal shoot high brass 4's or 6's. Big ducks require 2's or 4's. I have some people that shoot strictly BB's for big ducks and geese and they swear by them.
