Surf Fishing

I am planning a trip to Grand Isle the first week of June and was wondering if any one had some infomation for the boatless man in Grand Isle. I plan to hit up the Fouchon Beach in the morning. I have never seriously surf fished so I was wondering what baits are the best for this type of fishing. Thanks in advance for any tips.

surf fishing
We go to Fourchon 4 to 5 times a year and surf fish. We use double rigged sparkle beetles, and sometimes topwater baits. Sparkle beetle colors we have the best luck with are chartruse, purple, and smoke. Please post and let us know what the water conditions are like when you get back. Best of luck.

Watch for the birds feeding in the water and try there. Might want to try some minnows fished with a slip sinker also. Green Sparkle beetles work great. Early in the morning and later in the afternoons seem to be the best times but when there is a good tide movement it should provide good action. Word of caution, be wary of the current. Good Luck !!
