I just ordered a gun. I ordered the 12 gauge Benelli Super Black Eagle II (28in.-3.5). Have not got it in yet but i looked around for a while before i bought it so i am asking how good of a gun i got for the money i just spent(lots). Got plenty of shotguns but wanted one for a lifetime.Just asking for suggestions.

Ultimate Shotgun
I got my first super black eagle back in 1994. Last year I learned that Since it was made by H & K that it is a collectors item. Last year I got an SBE II and must say it may shoot better than the old one. One thing I should mention to you. If you have a 28" barrel on your other guns and you like that there is a difference with the Benelli since the receiver is 2 inches longer than standard shotguns. If you like the normal 28 you may want to contact the person you ordered from and get them to get you a 26" barrel. Just my two cents, but must admit I wish i had known that 14 years ago when i got my first one. the barrels are about $400 so getting a new one is a little costly. Enjoy and becareful with the butt of the gun as sometimes the Pad will come off. If it does take a small amount of clear silicone and reattach the butt pad.

Excellent
Eight yrs hunting now with a SBE. Love it. Add the stainlees steel recoil reduction spring and an extended ported choke tube such as Kicks, Pattern Master, or Haydels(my choice), and kill some ducks!!

Thats The Gun That Fits
I had been looking at the Beretta for some time now. But while I was in Houston for the storm I went to Gander Mountain. They have a bunch of guns on display and free to pick up and handle without the help of a salesman. I was able to handle the Beretta and every time I threw the gun up I had to adjust my aim. No matter how many times I tried or how bad I wanted that gun it just didn't fit me. So I just stood there for a while and looked at it. After some time I started to walk away from the Beretta's. As I walked away I passed the Benelli's and picked one up. I threw the gun up and it was DEAD ON. I threw it up another 10 times and still DEAD ON. I put the gun down and did what I had to do. I went back to the Beretta and tried again hoping for a fit. NO LUCK. I wont buy the gun I want because I have to buy the one that fits. The Benelli's are great guns. The guys I hunt with all have Benelli's SBE I. If you don't mind, how much did you have to pay. Duck

Simply the best. Benelli.
I am a duck guide in Venice and hunt 50+ days every season with my SBE2. I also like to travel to AR every Jan. and kill greenheads in the timber with it. Works every time I pull the trigger. Never Jammed on me in 6 yrs. Only clean it once a yr. The perfect Duck gun.

Super Beagle
I think youll be happy and the cost is something youll forget about when you get comfortable with the gun and see how knocking down doubles and tripples become more common with benellis low muzzle climb and soft recoil, just another proud benelli owners comment.

Absolutely best gun on the market. There are many great guns out there, but at the end of the day, nothing will hang with a Benelli.

Beretta and Benelli
Beretta makes Benelli now and both use the same rotating bolt ejection system. The Beretta has a different gas operating system and now has the Kickoff too. The Beretta kicks less the the Benelli, but they are both lifetime guns. When I bought my Beretta, Ricky @ Cajun Guns told me these were the only two guns that dont come back broken from dove hunts in Argetina after shooting thousands of shells a day, the Berettta fit me better. Glad you got the one that fits you best!!!

If it fits.....
Since you said it fits you, you made the best decision! With that aside, I would have suggested you go the Beretta route to get more "gun" for your money, again, if it fit you. I say that considering the SBE costs usually $300 or so more than the beretta yet when I handled the benelli I had to ask myself "For what??" Has comparable fit and finish to the Stoeger which is a similar action for 1/3 the price. If you can shoot the gun well, you should like it just fine and enjoy it for years. I'm sure some other benelli owners will offer pointers on how to avoid the infamous "Benelli click" and other quirks of the gun. good luck out there

SBE WAS THE ORIGANAL ROATATING BOLT BLOCK
I HAVE A 24'' 3 1/2 TURKEY GUN AND LOVE IT. NEVER JAMS.
THE ONLE SHELLS IVE HAD TROUBLE WITH ARE THE CHEAP SHORT BRASS. THEY DONT HAVE ENOUGH INERTIA TO EJECT THE SHELL.
