I JUST GOT ASKED TO JOIN A LEASE NEAR JONESVILLE LA. CAN ANY BODY GIVE ME INFO ON THAT AREA.THE CLUB IS 8 OR BETTER AND OUTSIDE THE EARS.IS THE EARLY BOW SEASON GOOD. AND WHEN IS THE RUT? THANX....

Lots of fields and farmland. North of Jonesville you have the hills and everywhere else is flat hardwoods & swamp type farm land. There are some really nice deer around there. I know of one club that is bowhunting only with 8pt rule and they kill some monsters. Rut is late usually around Christmas.

ITS TO THE FLOOZ WITH DEER, AND THERE ALL JUST MATURE WHITETAILS OVER THERE, ITS A REALLY NICE PLACE

i know a guy whos brother is married to the daughter of a guy who knows the son of a hunter that hunts there. the area has nothing but huge wallhanger bucks that rut all year long. alot of black panthers though.

That's a good one. Seriously though, exactly where 'near' Jonesville are we talking? Towards Ferriday, Harrisonburg, Jena, or Lake Larto? Rut is still going to be around Christmas, give or take a week, and the terrain is so diverse in every direction from Jonesville, you've got swamps, hills, flat farm land, river bottoms, etc., that the hunting is very much different.

I know the guy who posted this and the land he is talking about is on hwy 129 south of Stacy, north of Monterey. Closer to Stacy.

I wouldn't pass on it.

Assuming that it is in the Mississippi River bottomland, like Bayou Cocodrie NWR, the rut is usually AFTER Christmas, though it varies around that time. If the QDM rules of the club are followed, you should have some very good hunting.
